The adult moths have two-tone forewings, with a sinuous border between them. The basal half is dark brown. The marginal half is patchy pale grey. The hindwings are yellow with broad brown margins. The wingspan is about 2.5 cms.

    The adult moths have a coiled haustellum under the head, which they can uncoil, and through which they can sip nectar from flowers.
