The adult moths have grey forewings, each with a tracery of dark lines which knot in the middle to make a dark spot. The hindwings are plain grey. The grey head has a white and black collars. The wingspan of the males is about 5 cms. The wingspan of the females is about 7 cms.

The species has been found in:

  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania,
  • South Australia, and
  • Western Australia.
