The adult moths of this species are brown with various markings including wavy zigzag lines across the forewings, and a pale more diffuse pattern on the hindwings. The males have a pair of black # signs on each forewing. The females have a single black # sign on each forewing The wingspan when the wings are out to the side is about 4 cms.

The species has been found in:

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania,
  • South Australia, and
  • Western Australia.
