Gerrit Wartenaar was a Dutch artist and engraver.

Wartenaar was the artist chosen by Pieter Cramer to engrave the illustrations in his book

  • De uitlandsche kapellen voorkomende in de drie waereld-deelen

The engravings were printed, painted, and published in Amsterdam by Johannes Baalde, and the staff of his family company Firma S.J.Baalde.

After Cramer died in 1776, Casper Stoll undertook the work of finishing the publication of Cramer's book, still using Wartenaaar for the engravings, and Firma S.J.Baalde for the printing, painting, and publishing.
