Werner & Winter (also written Werner und Winter) was a renowned German printing house in Frankfurt am Main, first listed in 1871. It became known for Chromolithography (multi?color lithographic printing) They specialised in scientific plates for zoology, ichthyology, entomology, and botany. They were employed for university printing by Goethe University Frankfurt until the 1920s
They were also employed by
Georg Semper
to draw, engrave, and print the illustrations in his multi-volume
